LAS VEGAS, Nev., July 2 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ - PocketMail Group Limited (ASX:PKT), a leading provider of value-priced mobile e-mail services, announced at the International Truck Show in Las Vegas last week that it will partner with The Internet Truckstop to provide mobile load-matching services for North American truckers, without using a laptop or a PC.
Using PocketMail's handheld mobile e-mail device and their Internet Truckstop account, truckers can now search The Internet Truckstop's large database of truck loads, anytime, anywhere using virtually any phone. Truckers can also send in a truck posting and receive matching loads.
By filling in a simple electronic form on the PocketMail Composer and providing basic information including an Internet Truckstop account number, a trucker can search for a certain type of load within a radius of a specific city. The user then dials the toll-free PocketMail telephone service, holds the PocketMail Composer up to the receiver and presses a button. Search and transmission, with results returned to the PocketMail Composer, typically takes less than one minute.
"The Internet Truckstop agreement will bring quick, easy-to-use mobile load matching to our expanding customer base of truckers," said PocketMail chief executive David Marchant. "This continues our strategy of providing added value to our customers over and above our core mobile e-mail service."
Scott Moscrip of The Internet Truckstop(R) noted that PocketMail allows truckers access to his company's freight matching service, anytime, anywhere without use of a laptop or PC.
"The availability of easy to use tools, one of the largest freight databases and a commitment to the transportation intermediary industry is what makes The Internet Truckstop(R) the leader in Internet freight matching," Moscrip explained.
PocketMail is a low-cost, easy-to-use mobile e-mail service that enables users to send and receive e-mails using the handheld PocketMail Composer and virtually any telephone, including cell-phones and payphones.
