Synchrologic Announces Next-Generation Push Technology
SynchrologicTM Pioneers Push over wireless networks for converged PDA/phone devices
ATLANTA, July 1, 2003 -- Synchrologic today announces the next evolution to its award-winning push technology in Synchrologic Mobile Suite. Synchrologicís patent-pending Push MobileTM now uses IP-based network connectivity over Wi-Fi, LAN, or WAN networks. This new method for pushing mission-critical information to mobile workers allows them to do business anywhere with confidence and a guarantee that corporate data will be available on mobile devices when needed.
Synchrologic pioneered the use of SMS to push email, corporate applications, software, files, and Web sites to mobile workers using converged devices such as the Handspring Treo, Samsung i700 or Sony-Ericsson P800. Push Mobile raises the bar by utilizing the network address on the device and automatically delivering the information to mobile devices when information is available on a server. The Push Mobile technology now incorporates IP-addressable devices, as well as SMS-addressable devices - using both of these technologies in concert if needed - to guarantee highest reliability of information delivery.
"Push technology, used with T-Mobile's standards based networks and integrated open platforms, such as our Pocket PC Phone Edition and Treo 270 devices, deliver next generation services for business, today" said Frank Ramirez, director of business products for T-Mobile USA, Inc. "The Synchrologic Mobile Suite combined with T-Mobile Internet, our 2.5G GPRS service, and T-Mobile HotSpotSM ensures that employees at work, at home, or on the road Get More® convenient access to a complete email service as well as mission critical data."
"Some wireless applications and services, like Short Message Service and wireless e-mail, have already been shown to improve productivity and should be embraced," said Phil Redman of Gartner in the report titled "Hype Cycle for Mobile and Wireless Applications and Services 2003". "Enterprise wireless e-mail technology facilitates the delivery of enterprise class e-mail to handheld devices through wireless networks from a gateway connected to a traditional e-mail product such as Microsoft Exchange. The preferred method is to push e-mail to the client. Enterprise wireless e-mail also implies the simultaneous synchronization of personal information management data. Keep wireless applications and services simple, and use them as complements to a wired/fixed service."
Push Mobile will be available across Synchrologic Mobile Suite in 3Q2003.
